RITES Ltd — a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways and one of India's leading transport and infrastructure consultancies — has advertised 29 regular posts of Manager and Assistant Manager for civil engineers with design and field experience. The eleven posts (Vacancy Codes RG/35/26 to RG/45/26) cover bridge design, long-span bridges, metro stations, railway alignment (ESP), steel structures, bridge instrumentation, cost estimation, survey, bridge rehabilitation and NDT, and tunnels.
These are experienced-professional posts, not fresher posts: Manager needs 5 years and Assistant Manager 2 years of post-qualification experience, with 3 years and 1 year respectively in the area of the post. A full-time B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is the base qualification, and the three bridge-design posts (RG/35, RG/36 and RG/41) also need an M.Tech in Structural Engineering. Age limit is 35 years for Manager and 32 for Assistant Manager on 8 October 2026.
Applications run from 15 September to 8 October 2026 on rites.com. Selection is a written test of 125 objective questions (1 mark each, 2.5 hours, no negative marking) on 25 October 2026, then document scrutiny and an interview, with the written test and interview weighted 60 : 40.

Minimum 50% (UR/EWS) or 45% (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts) to be considered further. Part A is common to all eleven posts; Part B is specific to the post you apply for. The advertisement does not say how many of the 125 questions come from Part A and how many from Part B — our practice mocks use 75 from Part A and 50 from Part B, weighted towards bridges and structures because 24 of the 29 vacancies are bridge, steel-structure, metro-station or bridge-rehabilitation posts. That split is ours, not RITES's.
RITES Manager & AM Civil Eligibility 2026: Qualification & Age Limit
- ✓Education: full-time Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from an AICTE/UGC-recognised university. RG/35/26 (Long-span Bridges), RG/36/26 (Bridges) and RG/41/26 (Assistant Manager, Bridges) also need a Master's degree in Structural Engineering. Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) are accepted as equivalent.
- ✓Marks: first class / minimum 60% in the minimum qualification for General/EWS candidates (and for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD applying against unreserved posts); at least 50% for reserved-category candidates against reserved posts. If the marksheet shows only CGPA, upload the university's conversion formula — without one, 6 on a 10-point scale counts as 60%.
- ✓Manager posts (RG/35–RG/40): 5 years of post-qualification experience, of which at least 3 years in the area of the post — long-span bridge design (RG/35), railway bridge/ROB/RUB design (RG/36), metro/RRTS station design (RG/37), railway yard plans and ESP for new lines or multitracking (RG/38), steel bridge superstructure design (RG/39), bridge instrumentation and condition assessment (RG/40).
- ✓Assistant Manager posts (RG/41–RG/45): 2 years of post-qualification experience — with at least 1 year in railway bridge/ROB/RUB/LHS design (RG/41), cost estimates and BOQs for railway bridges and other projects (RG/42), bridge design, inspection, NDT and rehabilitation (RG/44); 2 years in topographic and land survey with total station, DGPS, LiDAR and auto level (RG/43); and 2 years in tunnel engineering (RG/45).
- ✓Pay-level condition for the six Manager posts: candidates from Central/State Govt., PSUs or autonomous bodies need 5 years' total experience with at least 2 years in the IDA scale ₹40,000–1,40,000 (or CDA Level 7); candidates from the private sector or other organisations need 5 years' total experience and an annual CTC of at least ₹16.27 lakh on 8 October 2026. The condition is judged on the latest organisation.
- ✓Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship and PhD research periods do not count as experience (on-the-job training is an exception; apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 counts). An offer letter is not proof of experience — joining and relieving orders or service certificates are.
- ✓Age on 8 October 2026: Manager posts 35 years, Assistant Manager posts 32 years. Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC-NCL 3 years, J&K domicile 5 years, PwBD 10 years (in addition to SC/ST/OBC), and RITES regular or contract employees 5 years.
- ✓PwBD: 2 posts are reserved horizontally — RG/36/26 (locomotor disability) and RG/41/26 (hearing impairment). The posts are identified for locomotor disability (one arm, one leg) and hearing impairment; eligible PwBD candidates can apply even where no post is specifically reserved.
- ✓Only one application, for one vacancy code, is allowed and it cannot be edited after submission. Candidates in Government/PSU/bank service must apply through proper channel or bring an NOC to the interview to keep pay protection.
- ✓Application fee: ₹600 plus taxes for General/OBC; ₹300 plus taxes for EWS/SC/ST/PwBD. The fee of SC/ST/PwBD candidates is refunded (less GST and bank charges) after they take part in the written test or interview, on submitting the category certificate; a SC/ST/PwBD candidate applying to a post with no vacancy reserved for that category pays the full fee.
RITES Manager & AM Civil Salary 2026

Pay is fixed at the minimum of the scale, with DA, fixed and variable allowances, performance-related pay, medical facilities, HRA or lease accommodation, PF, gratuity and a post-retirement medical scheme. Appointment is on one year's probation, and postings can be anywhere in India and abroad.
RITES Manager & AM Civil Cut Off
No previous cut-off exists for this cycle. RITES fixes qualifying marks only: 50% (General/EWS) or 45% (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD) in the written test, and 60% or 50% in the interview. Candidates are called for interview at about six per vacancy in order of written-test merit, and the final panel is ranked on written test 60% + interview 40%.

How to Prepare for RITES Manager & AM Civil 2026
- 1Read your own post's Part B first. Part A (surveying, soil mechanics, estimating, structural analysis, RCC and prestressed concrete, steel, highway-railway-airport) is common, but Part B is different for each of the eleven posts — a survey candidate and a tunnel candidate are tested on different things.
- 2There is no negative marking — answer every one of the 125 questions. With a 50% qualifying bar for General/EWS you need 63 correct answers just to stay in.
- 3Part A is standard degree-level civil engineering. Revise it with previous-year PSU and AE papers, then give the time you save to Part B — the post-specific topics no general test series covers.
- 4The final ranking is written test 60% + interview 40%, and 30 of the 40 interview marks are for technical and professional proficiency — so be ready to defend real design work: software you have used, codes you designed to, and a bridge or structure you can walk through end to end.
- 5Applicants are experienced engineers, so expect a competitive pool. Take full 125-question mocks against the clock: 150 minutes is about 72 seconds a question.
- 6Check the pay-level rule before you apply for a Manager post: two years in the IDA ₹40,000–1,40,000 scale (or Level 7) for government and PSU candidates, or a CTC of ₹16.27 lakh for private-sector candidates. Missing it is a rejection at document scrutiny, not a low score.
