How to Prepare for CSPC AE Civil 2026
- 180 of the 100 marks are civil engineering, on a GATE-style 20-unit syllabus. Soil + foundation, the two hydraulics units, hydrology + irrigation and the four environmental units are each large — don't leave any of them.
- 2Negative marking is a quarter mark. Four wrong guesses cancel one correct answer, so practise full 100-question mocks and learn when to skip.
- 3Two hours for 100 questions is 72 seconds a question — enough for short numericals, not for long derivations. Keep the standard formulas (bearing capacity, consolidation, Manning, Webster, IRC pavement design) at your fingertips.
- 4Part II is only 20 marks but it includes Hindi as well as English. Revise basic Hindi grammar (संधि, समास, पर्यायवाची, विलोम, मुहावरे) along with English usage.
- 5With only 20 posts and 3–5 times the vacancies called for document verification, plan to score clearly above the 40% minimum — the 10-mark interview then decides close cases.
