How to Prepare for JEPC JE Civil 2026

  1. 1The written test is half the 200-mark merit, and Part G (civil) is 60 of its 100 marks. Prepare civil engineering first.
  2. 2Half of Part G is analytical and situational — expect site problems: which material or method to choose, how to check a defect, how to read an estimate or a bill. Practise reasoning through such questions, not only memorising facts.
  3. 3This is a works-supervision post for school buildings. Building materials and construction, estimating, BOQ, measurement and bills, and site quality control matter more than advanced design.
  4. 4Academic marks (50) come from your diploma, and experience adds up to 10. Keep your mark sheets and experience certificates ready; the original certificates are checked at the interview.
  5. 5The computer-based test (20 marks) is practical. Be comfortable with a spreadsheet for estimates and bills and with typing a short report.
  6. 6General Knowledge in a Jharkhand government recruitment usually includes Jharkhand topics — geography, tribes, culture and the state's education schemes — although the notice only says General Knowledge.
