The Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab (PSSSB) recruits Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) for Punjab Government departments as Group-B posts. Advertisement No. 07 of 2026 invited online applications on sssb.punjab.gov.in from 13 March to 6 April 2026, and a public notice of 11 September 2026 opened the portal again from 11 to 15 September 2026.
Two conditions decide who can sit it: a three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering (or a higher qualification in the same discipline), and Punjabi passed at Matriculation level, which Punjab's service rules make compulsory for every direct appointment.
The advertisement fixes no number of posts. The board is filling posts that departments send it through demand letters received up to 30 September 2026, and selection is a single objective (MCQ) written test followed by counselling — there is no interview.

How to Prepare for PSSSB JE Civil 2026
- 1Check your eligibility before anything else: a civil diploma AND Punjabi at 10th level. Without Matric Punjabi you cannot be appointed, however well you score.
- 2The paper is diploma-level civil engineering — surveying, building materials, RCC basics, soil mechanics, estimation, irrigation and highways. SSC JE Civil and state diploma JE mocks cover the same ground.
- 3Do not skip the general part: Punjab history and culture and the Punjabi language questions are marks most outside coaching material ignores.
- 4The written exam is on 18 October 2026. Watch sssb.punjab.gov.in for the admit card — the board announces it only there, not by letter.
