- Working knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning, MEP, and maintenance of a research and academic campus with a population of 1,500 or more.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, construction management and project management software.

- Selection among shortlisted candidates is on the basis of the interview; the institute may hold an objective, skill test or presentation before the interview for further shortlisting.
- All eligible candidates must appear for a written test and/or interview — come prepared for a stay of at least two days.

- Age relaxation and reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD/Ex-servicemen follow Central Government rules; OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be issued on or after 01.04.2026.
- Candidates working in Government, autonomous bodies or PSUs must give a No Objection Certificate and a Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
- Pay is the basic pay of the level with DA, HRA and other allowances; the National Pension Scheme applies.
