  • The posts are filled by deputation as per the recruitment rules notified on 25.06.2004 (amended on 01.07.2009) and 25.01.2018.
  • Period: one year, which can be extended up to three years or till the services are required, whichever is earlier, on the standard deputation terms of the Government of India / Chandigarh Administration.
  • The pay level is Level 6 (₹35,400–1,12,400) as per the 7th CPC.

  • Employees of the Central Government, a State Government, a Public Sector Undertaking, a semi-government, autonomous or statutory organisation.
  • They must hold a similar post (the notice mentions Junior Engineer (Horticulture) or an analogous post) on a regular basis in the grade.
  • They must have the educational qualification and experience in the notified recruitment rules: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.

How to applynotification p. 1

  • Application in the prescribed format (Annexure-I, a bio-data proforma) is forwarded through proper channel to the Chief Engineer, Engineering Department, UT Chandigarh, 1st Floor, Deluxe Building (Old U.T. Secretariat), Sector 9-D, Chandigarh 160009.
  • It must reach on or before 30 days from the publication of the notice on the website — the latest date is 08.10.2026.
  • Attach photocopies of the ACRs/APARs of the last five years, duly attested, with supporting certificates of qualification and experience.
  • The forwarding employer certifies (Annexure-II) that the particulars are correct, that no disciplinary or vigilance case is pending or contemplated, that the officer's integrity is certified, and that the officer will be relieved if selected.
  • Incomplete applications, or those without the last five years' ACRs and supporting documents, are not entertained and no correspondence is made.
  • A candidate who applies on deputation cannot withdraw the candidature later.
