Reservation and locations
- Retail Construction Engineer / Retail Engineer: 10 posts — UR 4, EWS 1, OBC (NCL) 2, SC 2, ST 1, with 1 post horizontally reserved for low-vision PwBD candidates.
- Terminal Operation Engineer: 6 posts — UR 2, EWS 1, OBC (NCL) 2, SC 1.

Age limit
- Maximum age including all relaxations: 40 years (UR/EWS), 43 (OBC-NCL), 45 (SC/ST), 45 (UR/EWS with PwBD), 48 (OBC-NCL with PwBD), 50 (SC/ST with PwBD).
- OBC/SC/ST relaxation applies only to the posts reserved for that category. In no case does the age exceed 50 years after all relaxations.
- Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India rules.

What counts as experience
- Only experience gained after the declaration of the result of the qualifying degree/diploma is counted.
- Experience as a short-term trainee, teaching or research experience, freelance experience and entrepreneurial experience are not counted.
- In the case of intermittent jobs, only the actual days of full-time work are counted.

Pay and terms
- Annual consolidated pay of ₹12 to 14 lakh depending on qualification and experience; provident fund; gratuity after more than 1 year of engagement; ex-gratia of ₹25 lakh to the family on death (plus another ₹25 lakh if death occurs by accident at the company premises).
- Engagement for 3 years, extendable by 2 years for a maximum of 5 years; rotating shifts including night shifts may be required; notice of 1 month (or pay in lieu) on premature termination.

Selection process
- Personal interview only. Eligible candidates are called for interview in the ratio 1:10 (posts : candidates) after screening of the applications.
- If more candidates are eligible, screening is by higher relevant educational qualification and by more relevant experience; this screening is for elimination only and carries no weightage in the final merit.
- Merit is drawn only from the interview. Qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS/OBC (NCL) and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD. A tie is broken in favour of the older candidate.
- There is no written test, so there is no syllabus.

- ₹118 (₹100 plus ₹18 GST) for General, OBC (including NCL) and EWS candidates; SC/ST/PwBD/ex-servicemen are exempt.
- The fee is non-refundable and is paid online only (SBI Collect); cheques, drafts and postal orders are not accepted.
